John Bolton was
questioned by senators in a hearing today, in which his temperament to hold the post was doubted by Joe Biden.
Quite frankly, I'm surprised that the nominee wants the job, given the many negative things he's said about the U.N.," said Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, the ranking Democrat on the committee."
Gah! Biden doesn't understand that this is
exactly why Bolton wants the job.
Who do the democrat senators think would be ideal for this job? Someone who goes along to get along? Someone who won't make waves?
Are they not aware that the U.N. has
massive problems right now, and are in a state of near-complete denial about it? Or are the senators satisfied with the U.N.'s performance as of late?
It seems to me the senators' time would be better spent grilling Bolton on exactly what he will do to shake things up at Turtle Bay, rather than trying to make this guy out to be some kind of hothead.
P.S. Hee! My first entry lifted from my fun little headline reader up there. It is the lazy blogger's friend - it brings the headlines right to you.
